On this special occasion Alejandro Postigo will sing before the screening one of Lola Flores's most iconic songs, Sorrow, accompanied by Violeta Valladares (violin) and Michael Toolan (piano).
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Alejandro Postigo, singer, dancer and Sr Lecturer of Musical Theatre, London College of Music.
Manolo's passionate love for Lola goes beyond reason and drives him into a spiral of trouble, jealousy, alcohol and poignant flamenco songs that manifest his disgrace. Carlos Serrano de Osma's film gathers on screen two of the most famous artists of the time in Spain, who were also a couple in real life. The Surealist side of the film provoked conflicts in cinemas at the time of its release, but it also made of it a cult reference movie forever.
