In South East Spain there is a small village where it is believed that some women are destined to be taken by the water each year with the floods provoked by annual storms. Ana is a young girl living with her mother and grandmother, trapped in this village and its conventions. López Riera's first feature film is a beautiful take on traditional beliefs, social structures and the resilience of the single woman. A question lingers all throughout the film: can a person escape his/her fate? The answer lies in Ana.
