When Amaia, a young woman, has her child she retreats to her parents' home in a Basque village. There she will learn to understand her mother better, whom, like so many others, had to give up her ambitions to bring up a family. Endorsed by Pedro Almodóvar, Ruiz de Azúa’s debut feature film offers a poignant look at the mother-daughter relationship avoiding pointless sentimentality. Laia Costa's interpretation stands out as a young mother initially overwhelmed by but then learning to cope with all the changes and life's responsibilities that come with the arrival of her daughter.
