Alegría lives in Melilla and has been distancing from her Jewish roots for many years. The arrival of her niece to get married alters the balance of her life. Will this be the time to reconcile with her own daughter, who she hasn't seen for years and is now living in Israel and a mother herself? Inspired by the director's own roots, Alegría is a film by and about women, their friendship and understanding beyond religion and culture as well as the conflicts and contradictions within.
