Fernando Fernán Gómez was born one hundred years ago and his contribution to the history of Spanish cinema is incredibly rich and varied. He directed Strange Voyage basing it on a real murder that took place in Murcia around that time. In a small provincial town live three single siblings: Venancio and Paquita, who are childish and not very bright, and their sister Ignacia, who is very clever, manipulative and the terror of her brother and sister. Venancio and Paquita suspect that their sister is welcoming a guest at night and they start to spy on her. Then an accident happens...

FERNANDO FERNÁN GÓMEZ: UN RETRATO

Fernando Fernán Gómez: A Portrait

dir. Jesús García de Dueñas

Spain | 1976 | 10 min

In Spanish with English subtitles

Jesús García de Dueñas was a friend and mentee of Fernando Fernán Gómez. In 1976 he put together a series of reflections of Fernán Gómez on his work in film, theatre and television. An excellent starting point to get to know a bit better this wonderful man of culture.
